Hey Tony thanks for all your help. All I have to do now is save a little money for the rest of my parts. I can't wait to start my build. Thanks again.

Definitely once I start building I’ll take pictures along the way. I’m still learning how to fly but still practicing. I have to fix my esky belt-cp which I crash, but I have all the parts already. Need to start fixing it soon. Thanks again.

I just received my Futaba S9257 and it’s a little bigger than the other servos. Will I have any problem installing this servo other than the mounting bracket? On the instructions that came with my gyro this servo was one of the recommended ones. Sly the Dog what did you mean that I might have to use a step down? What is a step down and what will it prevent from happening? What should I look for as far as power consumption from the servo and what the gyro would handle? Sorry for so many question but I will like to build this heli right.

The step down is for the voltage. That servo is really sensitive to high voltage. I think it calls for 4.7v or something. but, you won't have any other problems other than mounting it to your bracket. And yes, for the 450 and 500 size heli, that is one of the best servos that you can get.

Will the voltage be coming from the gyro, being that it’s going to be connected to it? How can I find out how much voltage will the gyro send to servo?

Just get a volt meter and measure it across the red and black wires. The servo should have come with a spec sheet. YOu can run a little under what they call for, but I wouldn't go over...

Not sure here but I think you should get this info on your ESC data sheet too,
how much amps it gives out compared to what your servo can take in.
If your ESC gives out 5V, no stepdown needed, otherwise get one.
But you see its a $5.00 insurance for a $55.00 servo, so.....
later...

Look at the Futaba ds3154 for the tail for your 450. Its .10sec/60 at 4.8v 21oz/inch. I have one of these on my KDS and its more then sufficient. Save the 9257's for a 500/550 bird its overkill for your 450 and the weight might cause some balancing problems.

Eric, what's a good source for the DS3154? I fired up a Googly search and not a single store popped up..
