Question DX6i Settings

Ok all you DX6i owners .....(especially Will & Tony)
I should be getting the F-117 and P-51 up in the air next week and as I have never had a comp radio I need some help with the settings please.
Need to know about setting the radio up for these planes and mixing as I know nothing and also some help with rates and expo as really know nothing about expo...
Also setting a brake on a motor is something else I need some info on ... Does it mean I can stop it in any position I want so as I could stop the prop in a certain place to stop it hitting the ground?
All/any help will be very much appreciated

Thanks Guys

The P-51 is just a regular plane so nothing special there. Just read your manual for all the basic settings. On the F-117 you need to find your "Wing Type" setting and select "Elevon" I think. Then the two servos will plug into your aileron and elevator servo. I think that the left servo plugs into the ail channel and the right one the elev...but look in your manual to be sure. On either plane you can set the Expo to around 50-60%.

Setting up the brake is done by programing your ESC.....nothing to do with your transmitter. The brake will not enable you to "choose" where you want the motor to stop. And it's not necessary to set up a brake on these planes...it's more for gliders. In fact leaving the brake off will give you a better chance of not braking props.

Brill thanks Will ....
I guess the brake is for folding props as you dont want them causing drag while gliding...
I knew all would be ok for the P-51 but just wondered if you had changed the rates at all and still unsure as to what the Expo does ....(think I should read more about what I need /dont need than build, build, build lol)
Like I said ive never had a comp radio before and just flown the normal IC planes like my cap232 so all this electric stuff is new to me
;o)

Go into your reverse menu and try reversing the Ail. If that doesn't work, then put it back to normal and reverse the elevator. If neither of those work, reverse your servos in the Rx and try it again.

I charge all my batteries at a 1s rating. So, for a 1300mah battery, I would charge at 1.3 amps. I have been known to charge my 2200mah battery at 3.5amps though lol. It didn't get hot, but could damage the battery or shorten it's life. When you get your battery, somewhere on there it should tell you what charge rate you can charge it at on the back of the battery.
